Brooklyn-born. Jamaican father, American mother. Flag bearer and 9th in ski cross at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics — the best Caribbean Winter Olympic finish ever. Now I dig, weld, and plow in Truckee.
I didn't get to 9th in the world by standing by. Same drive, different mountain. I build, weld, plow, and document every bit of it from Truckee.
Born in Brooklyn, 1986. Jamaican father, American mother. On snow by four, racing by eleven.
Years on the US Ski Team — every alpine discipline, gate after gate. 2008 World Cup debut at Les Contamines, France: 12th.
Then I switched federations to race for Jamaica — the only Jamaican to qualify for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Sole athlete, sole flag. I carried it into opening ceremonies.
9th in ski cross. Best Caribbean Winter Olympic finish on record.
Ski cross is chaos — four racers down a banked, jumped course, last one across goes home. I finished 9th. That number stuck.
Every Olympic athlete has to find the next chapter. Mine came as five jobs, not one.
I moved to Truckee and started digging. Founded Copter Kids LLC for aerial cinematography, earned my welder's cert, built a rental fleet under E Kerr LLC, and took the foreman role at Ruppert Inc. Then stayed on the snow as an Alpine Level 2 instructor — the same terrain I used to race.
Ski racer. Filmer. Photographer. Instructor. Excavator. None of it looks like a former Olympian's resume. All of it fits. I write about it on the blogcast and track Sierra conditions through the crew weather dashboard I built for my own crew.
Now I run jobsites, plow the Village at 4 AM, teach by day, and fabricate with CC Welding in Reno. The Olympic story is the foundation — the daily work keeps the Sierra running. I live in Truckee with my fiancée, Lindsay Baker; we're expecting a baby boy in 2026.
Every photo here is mine. Every build is my money, my hands, my hours. The Olympic story stays. The mountain town gets the work.
Vancouver 2010 ski cross. Arctic Man at 86 mph. X Games for Jamaica. Copter Kids LLC aerial cinematography. Every clip is Errol's run or Errol's helicopter.
The race that put Jamaica back on the Winter Olympic map. Errol carried the flag at the Opening Ceremony, then finished 9th in the inaugural Olympic ski cross event. Brooklyn to Vancouver in one lifetime.
The documentary following Errol and the team through the road to Vancouver. The full story behind the flag, the race, and the crew that made it happen.
Four racers, one banked line, last one across goes home. Errol's 2008 X Games skicross run in Aspen, Colorado.
Summit at 5,800 ft. Drop 1,700 ft in under two miles. Then a snowmobile tow at up to 86 mph for 2.25 miles uphill. Errol partnered with 2015 Iron Dog champion Eric Quam, finishing 3rd in men's ski division (3:58.75) in the world's most dangerous ski race.
Copter Kids LLC aerial work. Custom RC airframes carrying RED EPIC, Sony FS700, and Panasonic GH2. Two years of aerial cinematography compiled into one reel.
US Ski Team alpine to the 2010 Vancouver ski-cross stage to Arctic Man at 86 mph. Squaw Valley · Alpine Meadows ambassador, Line of Descent team rider. Photographers credited where known.
Available for interviews — Olympic ski cross, Jamaica's winter program, the racing-to-trades pivot, or Sierra weather and public-safety work.
April 12. Jamaican father, American mother. Dual citizenship from day one.
Age 4. Strapped in. Never really unstrapped.
Age 11. Gates, bibs, finish lines.
Les Contamines, France, January 2008. 12th place. The level locks in.
Jamaica's flag bearer, sole athlete at the Games. 9th in ski cross — best Caribbean Winter Olympic finish on record.
Aerial cinematography with custom RC helicopters and RED cameras. Eventually inactive — moved on, but the airframes are still in the shop.
Started guiding at Palisades Tahoe (then Squaw Valley). Active to this day.
