A Son Arrives
Errol and his fiancée, Lindsay Baker, welcomed their son in July 2026. Next chapter, same drive.
I was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1986, to a Jamaican father and an American mother. The mountains were already in the family: my grandfather, John Fuller, was board president at Sugar Bowl. I was on skis at four, racing gates at eleven, and I have skied Squaw Valley, now Palisades Tahoe, every winter since 1995.
U.S. Ski Team to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics
I spent years on the U.S. Ski Team racing alpine, then moved to ski cross: four racers on one banked, jumped course, and only the first two move on. My FIS World Cup debut came in January 2008 at Les Contamines, France, where I finished 12th. I raced ski cross at the Winter X Games in Aspen in the same years.
Before Vancouver I switched federations to race for my father's country. I was Jamaica's only athlete at the 2010 Winter Olympics, carried the flag into the opening ceremony, and finished 9th in the first Olympic ski cross race ever held. It is still the best Winter Olympic result by a Caribbean athlete.
Ninth in the world, racing for Jamaica. That number never left me.
Arctic Man, Warren Miller and a SKI Magazine cover
After racing I kept skiing hard. At Arctic Man in Alaska, you drop 1,700 feet in under two miles, grab a tow rope and get pulled uphill behind a snowmobile at more than 80 mph. I finished 4th in 2010 and 3rd from 2016 to 2018 with snowmobiler Eric Quam. I skied in Warren Miller films in 2009 and 2017 (Line of Descent), won the 2016 pond skim, and became the first Black skier on the cover of SKI Magazine (2022, photographed by Stan Evans). In 2025 my name went up on the Olympians wall at Palisades Tahoe.
Aerial cinematography, welding and fabrication
From 2010 to 2015 I ran Copter Kids LLC, an aerial cinematography company flying RED, Sony and Panasonic cinema cameras on custom RC helicopters, before drones were everywhere. Then I learned a trade. I worked as a certified structural welder and fabricator, including years with CC Welding in Reno, built custom railings and stairs, framed houses, and did fabrication for the Disney+ series Rennervations in 2022.
Excavation foreman at Ruppert Inc. in Truckee
In 2023 I joined Ruppert Inc., a Truckee excavation and underground utility company. Today I am a foreman with my own crew, running water main and waterline installs, pipeline rehabilitation, storm drain and fire water lines for public works and private projects across Truckee, Donner Summit and North Lake Tahoe. I lead our GPS machine control work on Trimble Siteworks and Earthworks and train other crew members to run it.
Winter means snow removal. In the 2025-26 season I ran snow removal for the Village at Palisades Tahoe: a crew of about 14, starting at 2 AM, so the village is clear before the first chair. KCRA 3 covered it.
E Kerr LLC: equipment rental and J-Rod plows
In 2024 I started E Kerr LLC, my own equipment company. It rents machines to contractors, including a CAT 299D XHP compact track loader and a John Deere 35G mini excavator, and it is an authorized dealer for J-Rod hydraulic wing plows from Atelier JR in Quebec. I run the plows on my own machines before I sell anyone one.
Teaching and guiding at Palisades Tahoe
I still ski most days in winter. I am a PSIA Level 3 alpine instructor and a mountain guide at Palisades Tahoe, where I have taught private and corporate groups since 2016.

In the Sierra the weather makes the call on every job. So I built errolkerr.com into a free toolkit for crews and mountain people: a hyperlocal Truckee and Tahoe weather forecast, a crew weather GO/NO-GO dashboard, a daily weather blog, a construction and climate blog, and a tools and gear store with the equipment I actually use.

I live in Truckee with my fiancée, Lindsay Baker. We met at the bottom of KT-22, I proposed there in 2025, and our son was born in July 2026. It's the same drive that got me to 9th in the world, now pointed at my family and my mountain town.
